Encrypt the Web

Baratunde Thurston helps explain the EFF's goal to help encrypt the web by moving all websites from non-secure HTTP to the more secure HTTPS.

HTTPS better protects against eavesdropping of traffic, pickpocketing of passwords, and hijacking and alteration of content.  The protocol makes the web just a little safer.  More and more web sites have moved to HTTPS, but still half the sites people visit everybody are non-secure.  Moving HTTPS is a step in the right direction for site owners, and the EFF is helping to make the move easy.

The tools that the EFF provide to help in a more secure web are found on the HTTPS Everywhere page and the Certbot page.
